Just who is Businetect?

Our journey began in 1980 in North Aurora when Walter Baaske, Jr. established an accounting firm aptly named, Baaske Accounting. During his tenure as owner, Walter established a culture that centered around high quality client servicing and fostering a team environment. A culture that is still very apparent in the business today. 

After 14 years as the owner, Walter sold the practice to his son, Peter, as a way to ease himself into retirement. Peter had been working for his father for around a decade at that point and easily continued the practice his father had built. Walter continued to work for Peter for another 6 years until he retired from the business completely. 

In 2002, after 8 years of owning the business, Peter decided the company needed change. While North Aurora had been home since it was established, it wasn’t an ideal home for Baaske Accounting anymore. Peter decided to move the business closer to not only his existing client base, but also closer to additional businesses that provided opportunity for growth. Peter ensured the vital piece to the business, the culture his father had built, continued despite the address change. 

After 12 years in Bolingbrook, Peter decided that the practice was again in need of a change. He brought his son, Matt, in to help brainstorm areas of opportunity for the business. An opportunity presented itself to rebrand the business and enhance the services provided to their clients. It was with those changes in mind that Baaske Accounting was folded into Businetect, Ltd.

Businetect is rooted in the success of Baaske Accounting. Walter’s vision for the company was always a client oriented focus. The staff at Businetect still embraces that vision and strives to ensure every client is treated as if they are family. 

We are more than happy to simply provide accounting services for our clients, but our hope is that our clients entrust us with more than just their bookkeeping. We want to be there for our clients every step of the way. Peter Baaske

Peter graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. He went to work for his father, Walt, at Baaske Accounting starting in August of 1987. He bought the Practice from his father in January of 1994. During the time he was working for his father, he passed his Special Enrollment Exam and was officially granted the designation of Enrolled Agent in September of 1991. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Society of Enrolled Agents from 1993 to 1996 and served as the President from 1995 to 1996.

Matt Baaske

Matt is Peter’s oldest child. He graduated from North Central College in 2010 with a double major in Accounting and Economics. Matt worked for Northern Trust for 6 years as a Fund Accountant & Team Leader. His main focus there was retirement plans, specifically 401(k) & 403(b) plans for major corporations & public funds. Matt is in the process to become an Enrolled Agent (EA).

Pam Yanke

Pam began her career in the manufacturing industry. She held 2 major roles during her 20+ years in the industry. She started out in product development working with customers to optimize products to fit their needs. She then made the transition to customer service where she continued to assist with customers in a variety of ways. Pam started at Baaske Accounting in 2008 and stayed on during the transition to Businetect. She currently holds the position of Senior Payroll Specialist.
